Opened in 1896 and designed by Frederick Law Olmsted, Keney Park is an oasis of greenery in the city of Hartford. Keney Park offers residents in the northern part of the city a taste of natural Connecticut greenery, including meadows, forests, and ponds. In 1927, the Keney Park Golf Course was added and is one of the best rated golf courses in Connecticut. Within Keney Park also lies Keney Park Pond. Keney Park is the setting for many works of art, many by artists with a well established artistic background in Connecticut.
