Niehaus’ portrait roundel of The Reverend Berkeley is second from the left on the East façade of the Capitol. George Berkeley was a prominent theologian in Connecticut, after whom the Berkeley Divinity School was named. He is dressed in garb appropriate to his status as a Christian leader.
