Garry Apgar

Garry Apgar has a BA in French from Washington and Lee University, a maîtrise-ès-lettres in Lettres Modernes from the Université de Paris IV/Sorbonne, and a PhD in art history from Yale University. In 2021-2023, he taught seminar classes at Trinity College on The Art of Walt Disney and Public Art. Among his publications are “Public Art and the Remaking of Barcelona,” Art in America, February 1991; “Redrawing the Boundaries of Public Art,” Sculpture, May-June 1992; Mickey Mouse: Emblem of the American Spirit (2015), “Disney in Connecticut,” Connecticut Magazine, April 2016, and The Quotable Voltaire (2021). He is currently preparing a French edition of quotations by Walt Disney.
